Terms & Conditions

The Standard Companion Pty Ltd
ABN 56 601 299 094

For Private Courses and Training

For private courses and programmes provided by The Standard Companion, payment terms are 50% in advance with the outstanding balance invoiced on completion of tuition. Final payment must be made within 7 days of invoice receipt.

In the case of postponement, an attempt will be made to reschedule the programme on a mutually convenient date within 3 months of the original training date. However, if for any reason the client decides to cancel within 7 days of the original or rescheduled training date, then the initial payment of 50% is non-refundable.

For Fixed-Date Courses and Events

In the case of fixed-date courses and events provided by The Standard Companion in Australia and available periodically as advertised through our website, then immediate full payment is required.

Once a date and venue has been arranged and payment has been received, clients will receive an email with final confirmation and arrangements for the day. The course will not go ahead unless minimum numbers have been met and full payment has been received.

Postponement requests by students to a later date will be considered on a case-by-case basis and at the discretion of The Standard Companion. An amendment charge may be applied.

Cancellation fees will apply as follows:

  • up to 2 working days prior to the engagement: 75%;
  • within 48 hours prior: 100%.

In the unlikely event that a course with a stated minimum number of attendees does not meet the target, then The Standard Companion reserves the right to cancel the course. A full refund will be offered to fully enrolled students within seven working days. The Standard Companion cannot be held responsible for any expenses incurred by students due to a postponement or cancellation of a course.

Methods of Payment

Unless otherwise stated, all prices quoted are in Australian Dollars and exclude GST.

Cash, cheque and direct bank transfer are all accepted methods of payment. The preferred method of payment is by direct bank transfer.

All payments received must be in Australian Dollars.

Overseas Payment for all Courses and Training

Overseas payment is available by direct bank transfer only, subject to an additional bank transfer fee which must be borne by the client.

Damages & Breakages

Any costs incurred through damage or breakage to any venues, properties, belongings or equipment owned or sourced by The Standard Companion will be covered by the responsible party.

Other Information

We kindly request that all students arrive at the time stated in the course welcome information, unless agreed otherwise. In the case of a ‘no show’, that is, a failure of a student to show after 45 minutes from course start time without a telephone call, text or email alerting the tutor as to the reason for the lateness, no refund will be offered.

Should the tutor be unable to attend either a fixed-date course or a booking for private tuition due to sickness or a personal emergency, then we will offer a full refund or attempt to reschedule the course at a later date.

Video or audio recording of any class, seminar or workshop given by The Standard Companion is prohibited unless otherwise agreed in advance. If permission has been granted, then it is understood that the footage/audio is for personal use only and will not be used for commercial gain, or appear on any media or social media.

The Standard Companion reserves the right to postpone any training due to industrial action, ill health or any other unforeseen occurrence. The Standard Companion will make every best effort to inform the client in time.
The Standard Companion reserves the right to change or replace any modules on any of the listed courses; where possible students will be notified of these changes.

Access to student notes, and further reading lists where applicable, will be granted up to five working days from date of training. The reproduction or distribution of any notes or materials is strictly prohibited.

The Standard Companion reserves the right to publish on social media any photos taken during the course of a programme unless otherwise informed by the student or client, or in the case of a minor’s programme, by the parent or guardian. From time to time, The Standard Companion will have need to film or photograph a tutorial for internal or external marketing purposes. Students or clients who do not wish to be captured must alert The Standard Companion in writing no less than five working days before the course commencement date. The Standard Companion will inform students of any planned filming or photography by a party other than The Standard Companion in writing.
